Mattagami First Nation has secured $82,000 in federal funding to conduct a comprehensive waterfront feasibility study and master plan. One key stakeholder in this venture is MFN Fishing, an integral part of our community. The success of fishing tournaments, which draw numerous visitors to our region, is crucial to our economic growth. The proposed waterfront enhancements not only support the expansion of these tournaments but also promise an elevated experience for participants and attendees alike.
The envisioned projects include the establishment of a marina, an RV park, a fish hatchery, and an events center. These additions are poised to transform our waterfront into a hub of activity, catering to diverse interests and fostering a sense of community.
