We believe in the right of every community member to have access to safe, comfortable, and affordable housing. The Housing Department strives to address this need by managing housing programs, overseeing maintenance, and implementing initiatives that enhance the overall quality of living spaces.

Responsibilities

Addresses and promptly resolves all housing-related issues and requests.
Efficiently manages housing issues to ensure effective resolution.
Formulates recommendations and suggests changes to enhance the housing policy.
Receives, evaluates, and processes applications for renovations, new housing units, housing loans, and housing renovation loans.
Conducts rent reviews to ensure timely and accurate payments from tenants.
Coordinates inspections of rental units and community houses for maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
Executes annual maintenance and repair plans, ensuring completion to the satisfaction of tenants.
Offers guidance and support for applications to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) for funding programs such as Ontario Renovates.
Assists in securing funding for rent-to-own housing initiatives through CMHC.
Regularly participates in training and workshops, including those organized by the government and other relevant entities, to stay informed about housing-related developments and best practices.
