Mattagami First Nation maintains a social services office to assist community members in accessing government services.
The social services office centers on Ontario Works, a government program that provides direct assistance to individuals and families. Pamela Gaudreau currently manages these service for the Mattagami FN administration office. Pamela Gaudreau attended Algoma University’s First Nation Social Services Administrator Certification Program and graduated on May 13, 2010.
According to the Ministry of Community and Social Services – Ontario Works website:
If you qualify, Ontario Works can provide you with:
– Financial assistance
– Employment assistance
– Employment assistance activities
