Jennifer Constant is the Lands & Economic Development Coordinator for Mattagami First Nation.
The Lands & Economic Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the Lands Department of Mattagami First Nation in conjunction with economic development initiatives.
In the area of economic development, the key roles include but are not limited to proposal submission for capital and project funding as required; assisting members in the establishment or expansion of small business and initiating training and employment programs targeted at improving the human resource base within the community.
In the area of lands management the key roles include but are not limited to management/delivery of land management practices, projects, and services for land and traditional territory; collaboratively develop land management legislation as well as related aspects of land management systems and framework.
Some of the projects and objectives of this position include the Aboriginal Community Energy Plan (ACEP), Solar Initiatives and Economic Development Strategic Planning.
Constant is a long serving member of the community who has been involved in her First Nation for over two decades. Currently, she also sits with local leadership as an elected Councillor for the First Nation.
