Mary Jane Naveau Memorial School

Mattagami First Nation provides schooling for local youth at the Mary Jane Naveau Memorial School in the community.

The school was named in honour of a prominent local Elder in the community. The school has provided the First Nation with a facility that allows elementary level students to stay in the community to attend their education. Mattagami First Nation is fortunate to have this for its students as many First Nation communities in northern Ontario have to use educational services outside their home communities for their students.

Documents For Parents

On behalf of the Chief and Council, Mattagami First Nation Education Department and the Teaching Staff, we are pleased to present the Mary Jane Naveau Memorial Elementary School Policy Manual. This policy has been adopted since March 1st, 2002, revised in 2007 and has been revised October 2013 and has been approved by Band Council Resolution #2014-468.
